Diseases:
Emphysema: Abnormal permanent enlargement of the alveoli. Alveoli lose their shape.
Causes- Smoking or long exposure to air pollution.
Symptoms- Makes it harder to breath, gets worse over more time and more exposure.
Treatments- Incurable. People can quit smoking, stop being exposed to air pollutants, and use an air filterer to reduce the effects.
Asthma: Bronchioles are constantly swollen and extra mucus is made.
Causes- Faulty immune system causing overreactions to allergens.
Symptoms- At times it can be very hard to breathe, especially around allergens and during exercise.
Treatments- Avoiding allergens such as smoking and an inhaler can be use to help.
