The Respiratory System
-Welcome
• The respiratory system has organs and tissues that work together to breathe.
• Main Job – Move fresh air in and get waste gasses out of the body.
• Swaps oxygen which is needed by cells for carbon dioxide which is a waste gas and is removed.
• Brings air to the proper body temperature.
• Moisturizing the inhaled air to the right humidity.
• Protecting the body from harmful substances. This is done by coughing, sneezing, filtering, or swallowing them.
• The sense of smell is part of it.
